Redfin 22

Imagine sailing the yacht you built yourself to a small bay island to overnight with family or friends. The REDFIN 22 is ideal for Australia’s large bays, harbours, lakes and rivers, and can make this dream a reality.

Overnighting at Moreton Island

This craft is easy to build. The REDFIN 22 trailer yacht is available in four standard kit forms to ensure there is a kit to suit your needs. These kits are tried and proven and make your job of building so much easier than pouring over someone else’s plans.

The Redfin 22 is the pride of our fleet!!

The Redfin 22 is spacious and comfortable enough for four large adults with two cabins, a toilet and sink and stove all in a compact space.

Barrie is a dinghy man from way back and has designed the Redfin 22 with speed in mind. While she is quick and great fun to sail safety is also at the forefront of his thinking.

Triple chines including a non-trip chine, hull form, water ballast tanks, a 65kg pivoting centre board and plenty of built in buoyancy makes the boat extremely safe, stable and easy to steer in strong winds

We sailed ‘Jess’ with two on board and under full sail for 2 hours in 35 knot winds, 4 foot waves and just a rubber cord across the tiller. The Redfin 22 tacked perfectly and behaved as a keel boat.: MK, The Gap.

No-one on the tiller....

The other major feature of the Redfin 22 is its light weight.  The boat will weigh between 450 to 550kg depending on building materials used. It does  not need a lift for launching and its easy trailability will save you mooring fees and let you sail anywhere you are willing to take it.

This boat is versatile. The REDFIN 22 is just as at home racing as it is cruising Hervey Bay for two weeks while whale watching.

This boat is easily built in upright mode on three simply constructed individual Cradles or in a female jig. Whichever way, you can build a lot of this boat sitting in a chair!

The building system uses a modified stitch and tape method which employs heavy double bias tape and epoxy which produces a strong, long lasting boat.
